Senate Aviation Caucus Strategic Planning Workshop

Since creating the Senate Aviation Caucus a year ago, I’ve been pleased to see our efforts lead to the successful passage of a sales and use tax exemption for the parts, maintenance, repair and operation of fixed-wing aircraft through Act 52 of 2013. This initiative is a game-changer for the aviation industry in the Commonwealth.

As we move into a new legislative session, I would like to invite you and/or your staff of Senate Aviation Caucus members to attend a workshop on December 8 from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. in the Senate Rules Room. Also, please feel free to invite airport operators/managers and members of your local airport board to this event. This workshop will be critical in developing a legislative agenda for the caucus to pursue in the upcoming session. This initiative is in cooperation with and support from PennDOT’s Bureau of Aviation.

The purpose of this strategic planning workshop will be to:

•           Discuss the potential range of aviation issues that the Senate should address;

•           Consider ways in which the Senate Aviation Caucus can be most effective and supportive of Pennsylvania aviation; and

•           Provide an opportunity for Caucus leadership to share its perspectives.

In preparation for this important work session, I would please ask that you complete a short survey to provide a starting point for the work session: https://www.research.net/s/SenateAviationCaucus.

Please RSVP your staff attendance no later than Friday, December 5 to Jodi Roman of my office (jroman@pasen.gov or 717-787-2637).
